Ready to start healing w/a therapist? Consider these proven modalities & ensure your Psychologist specializes in at least one of these PTSD healing Modalities:
* IFS - Internal Family System
* EMDR - Eye Movement Desentization & Reprocessing
* CPT - Cognitive Processing Therapy
* DBT- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
* MBB Mind Body Bridging
Will treatment fix my spouse? - Not necessarily overnight...It's a lot of hard work to re-wire your brain and dependent on the individual. Lots of patience and practice by the person trying to change is needed.
What Modality do you feel works best to heal PTSD ? - Our two favorites are 1) IFS -Internal Family System 2) EMDR.
I wasn't always this way! What happened or changed that is causing this PTSD to flare up now? - PTSD and related issues associated w/PTSD can take up to a decade to surface due to the resiliency of the individual.
Is there some shortcut or life hack that can expedite the process that you know of ? - We wish it was that easy and there was a one size fits all answer. Hard work & practicing the techniques you learn in therapy is the best attitude to take. Give yourself time, you are re-wiring your brain and teaching it new concepts. The Cure for the Pain is the Pain. Lean into this new journey, it's worth the effort and hard work.

Brothers In Healing is focused on reducing the growing trend of First Responder suicide. We are committed to breaking the mental health stigma by sharing our personal experiences and letting others know that they are not alone. We believe in being open and transparent, and educating others on the power of seeking help. We want to bring others together who are suffering from post-traumatic stress and depression. We believe that together we are stronger.
Our mission is to help ANYONE suffering from PTSD, with a focus on First Responders and Military, but PTSD doesn't know boundaries. We are here to help anyone that needs it!
We become so numb to the trauma we're exposed to, that we sometimes tell ourselves, we're fine. Then one day, there's a realization, whether it's your spouse, your child, a friend, or yourself that points it out, that you're NOT fine!
We are here to share our experiences and help you get the help we ALL need to cope with this disability. It's not something you have to do alone, and most of the time, it can't be ignored and healed without professional help.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
